first of all
意味：「まず最初に」
使い方：エッセイやスピーチの冒頭、最初に述べたいポイントを紹介する時に使います。何かを順序立てて説明する時に自然な導入になります。
使用例：
First of all, the rapid spread of social media has significantly changed the way people communicate. Understanding its influence on daily interactions is essential when considering its role in modern society.（まず最初に、ソーシャルメディアの急速な普及は、人々のコミュニケーションのあり方を大きく変えました。現代社会におけるその役割を考える上で、その影響を理解することが不可欠です。）
to begin with
意味：「まずは」「最初に」
使い方：first of allと似ていますが、to begin withは少しカジュアルな響きもあり、話の流れを始める時に自然に使えます。問題提起の前置きにもよく使われます。
使用例：
To begin with, environmental problems such as climate change and pollution have become urgent global issues. Addressing these challenges requires collective efforts from individuals, businesses, and governments.（まずは、気候変動や汚染といった環境問題が、緊急の地球規模の課題となっています。これらの課題に対処するには、個人、企業、政府の協力が必要です。）
in order to decide whether… or not
意味：「〜すべきかどうかを決めるために」
使い方：ある問題に対して賛成・反対、採用・不採用を判断する際に使います。エッセイの問題提起部分（Introductionの後半）で特によく使われます。
使用例：
In order to decide whether students should be required to wear school uniforms or not, it is important to consider the effects on discipline, equality, and personal expression.（生徒に制服の着用を義務付けるべきかどうかを決めるためには、規律、平等、個人の表現への影響を考慮することが重要です。）
to outline the main points
意味：「主要な点を概説するために」
使い方：本文に入る前に、エッセイの全体構成（概要）を予告する時に使います。読者にこれからどんな話が展開されるかを示す役割です。
使用例：
To outline the main points, this essay will first examine the causes of urbanization, then explore its effects on society, and finally discuss possible solutions to the problems it creates.（主要な点を概説すると、このエッセイでは、まず都市化の原因を検討し、次にその社会への影響を探り、最後に生じた問題への解決策について論じます。）
firstly, secondly, thirdly, finally
意味：firstly, secondly, thirdly：「第一に、第二に、第三に」finally：「最後に」
使い方：firstly, secondly, thirdly, finallyは、順序だてて論点を整理して説明する時に使います。特にエッセイ本文の論理構成をはっきりさせたい時に有効です。
使用例：
Firstly, technology has made communication faster. Secondly, it has improved access to information. Thirdly, it has created new job opportunities. Finally, it is important to address the challenges that come with technological advancement.（第一に、テクノロジーはコミュニケーションを迅速化しました。第二に、情報へのアクセスを改善しました。第三に、新たな雇用機会を生み出しました。最後に、技術進歩に伴う課題に対処することが重要です。）
こうやって論点を整理したあと、以下のような表現を続ければ、スムーズにエッセイのBody部分に入れるし、読み手にとって分かりやすくなります。
